Business To Business, Dhanbad, 14th May 2026: People crowded fuel stations in Dhanbad and Jamshedpur amid rumours of a shortage of petrol and diesel, prompting local authorities to appeal to the public not to panic or believe misinformation.
Long queues of two-wheelers and cars were seen outside several fuel stations in both cities, even as representatives of oil companies maintained that there was no shortage of fuel supplies.
In Jamshedpur, Rajiv Ranjan and Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey held a meeting with district officials, oil company representatives and petrol pump operators to review the situation.
The administration urged residents to avoid panic buying and assured them that adequate stocks of petrol and diesel were available, while warning against the spread of rumours that could create unnecessary public anxiety.
