Mercury logs 41.3 deg C as IMD predicts rainfall, gusts over capital in next few days

Business To Business, New Delhi, 27th June, 2026:   The national capital recorded a slight rise in the minimum temperature on Saturday, while the maximum temperature settled at 41.3 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department has forecast light rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds over the city in the coming days.
According to an IMD official, Delhi is expected to witness partly cloudy skies on Sunday, with the possibility of thunderstorm activity developing during the afternoon or evening.
The weather department has also forecast strong surface winds with speeds of 20-30 kmph, occasionally gusting up to 40 kmph during the day.
The IMD said weather conditions are likely to intensify on Tuesday and Wednesday, with thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall expected across parts of the city.
On Saturday, Safdarjung, the city's base weather station, recorded a minimum temperature of 30.8 degrees Celsius, which was 2.9 degrees below the seasonal normal. The minimum temperature was 2.1 degrees higher than the previous day's reading.
The forecast rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to provide some relief from the prevailing heat, although humid conditions may persist in the intervening period.
