Business To Business, Lucknow, 22nd May, 2026: The demand for milk and dairy products sourced from indigenous cow breeds of Uttar Pradesh has risen, including from the Indian Army, according to an official statement issued on Friday.
The statement said these dairy products are valued for their high protein and calcium content and are considered beneficial for fitness and nutritional requirements.
Premium dairy products from Uttar Pradesh are also being supplied to major Indian cities such as Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. Milk from indigenous cow breeds raised in the state is additionally reaching customers across the country through platforms including Amazon India.
Mukesh Meshram, Additional Chief Secretary of the Animal Husbandry Department, said the state government is making unprecedented efforts to preserve and promote advanced indigenous cattle breeds.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to improve livestock quality, boost rural incomes, and promote traditional Indian cattle breeds known for their adaptability and nutritional value.
