Navi Mumbai Airport to launch international operations on July 15

Business To Business, Mumbai, 17th June, 2026:  Navi Mumbai International Airport, operated by Adani Group, is expected to begin international operations from July 15, 2026, according to a senior company official.

  • International passenger flight services are scheduled to commence from July 15.
  • The airport will also begin handling international cargo (freighter) operations.
  • Domestic flight services from the greenfield airport have been operational since December 2025.
The launch of international services marks a major milestone for the airport, which was developed to supplement the capacity of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, one of India's busiest aviation hubs.
The new airport is expected to:
  • Ease congestion at Mumbai's existing airport.
  • Enhance connectivity for passengers and cargo.
  • Support growth in international trade and logistics.
  • Strengthen the Mumbai Metropolitan Region's aviation infrastructure.
The start of international freighter services is particularly significant because:
  • Mumbai is a major gateway for exports and imports.
  • Dedicated cargo facilities can improve logistics efficiency.
  • Businesses may benefit from increased air freight capacity and reduced bottlenecks.
The airport is one of India's largest greenfield aviation projects and is expected to play an important role in accommodating the country's rapidly growing air travel demand.
With both passenger and cargo international operations set to begin, Navi Mumbai International Airport is poised to become a key aviation gateway for western India and a major contributor to the region's economic and infrastructure development.
