NEET, CBSE row: Youth Cong activists demonstrate in Mumbai, detained

Business To Business, Mumbai, 2^nd June, 2026:  Members of the Indian Youth Congress staged a protest march in Mumbai on Tuesday over alleged irregularities in public examinations, including concerns related to the NEET examination and the OSM system used in CBSE board exams.
The protest
The march was led by Uday Bhanu Chib and began at Chaityabhoomi in Dadar, proceeding towards the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Shivaji Park.
Protesters raised slogans against the central government and demanded:

• Greater transparency in examination processes.
• Accountability for alleged paper leaks.
• Measures to safeguard the integrity of competitive and board examinations.
• Clarification regarding concerns surrounding the OSM system in CBSE examinations.

Police action
The demonstration prompted police intervention, and several activists were reportedly detained during the course of the protest.

The protest comes amid continuing political debate over examination management and allegations of paper leaks in various recruitment and entrance tests. Opposition parties have repeatedly argued that recurring controversies undermine students' confidence in the education system and create uncertainty for millions of candidates.
