Business To Business, Kolkata, 13th May 2026: National Institute of Technology Rourkela has launched four new academic programmes for the 2026-27 academic session aimed at developing skilled professionals in emerging fields such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and advanced manufacturing, officials said.
The institute will introduce two BTech programmes — Mathematics and Computing, and Engineering Physics — along with two MTech programmes in Semiconductor Devices and Technology, and Machine Learning and Signal Analysis.
According to National Institute of Technology Rourkela, the new courses have been designed in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020 and aim to promote interdisciplinary education, advanced research and industry-oriented learning.
The institute said the programmes are intended to address the growing demand for specialised talent in next-generation technologies and strengthen India’s capabilities in high-tech and research-driven sectors.
