One killed, two injured as Army truck plunges off hillside in Arunachal's West Kameng

Business To Business, Itanagar, 26th June, 2026:   One Indian Army personnel was killed and two others were injured after an Army truck veered off the road and plunged down a steep hillside along National Highway 13 in West Kameng district on Friday, officials said.
The vehicle, belonging to the 18 Sikh Light Infantry, was carrying three Army personnel to their unit when the accident occurred at around 2 pm.
According to officials, the truck broke through the chain-link fencing of the Sashastra Seema Bal's 30th Battalion headquarters before crashing near the battalion's physical training (PT) ground.
The accident took place on a stretch of National Highway 13 that passes along a steep and hazardous hillside, making the route particularly vulnerable to such incidents.
Emergency response teams rushed to the spot and evacuated the injured personnel for medical treatment, while the body of the deceased soldier was recovered from the accident site.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident. Further details regarding the condition of the injured personnel and the cause of the crash are awaited.
