Business To Business, New Delhi, 21st June, 2026: Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and rural local bodies across India took part in the 12th International Day of Yoga celebrations on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
This year's observance was centered on the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," highlighting the role of yoga in promoting physical well-being, mental health, and healthy lifestyles across age groups.
Rajiv Ranjan Singh, popularly known as Lalan Singh, participated in a Yoga Day programme at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna.
At the same time, S. P. Singh Baghel attended a yoga event at the Eklavya Sports Stadium in Agra.
The ministry said that participation by PRIs and rural local bodies reflected efforts to promote yoga at the grassroots level and encourage healthier lifestyles in villages and rural communities. Events were organized across the country, bringing together citizens, elected representatives, and local officials to mark the occasion.
The International Day of Yoga, observed annually on June 21, is celebrated worldwide to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga for physical fitness, mental well-being, and overall health.
