Parliament's joint committee on MPs' salary, allowances reconstituted

Business To Business, New Delhi, 15th May 2026:  A joint parliamentary panel that examines issues related to the salaries and allowances of MPs was reconstituted on Friday.
The Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament is constituted annually and comprises members from both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
Under the provisions of the Salary, Allowances and Pension of Members of Parliament Act, 1954, the committee elects its own chairperson from among its members.
According to a Lok Sabha bulletin, Om Birla and C P Radhakrishnan have nominated members to the panel.
