PM Modi to visit Seychelles from Jun 27-29, to attend golden jubilee of country's National Day

Business To Business, New Delhi, 25th June, 2026:   Narendra Modi will undertake a State visit to Seychelles from June 27 to 29, during which he will hold talks with President Patrick Herminie and attend the country's National Day golden jubilee celebrations as the Guest of Honour.
Announcing the visit on Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs said the Prime Minister will review the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation with the Seychelles leadership and participate in events marking the 50th anniversary of the country's National Day.
The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of President Herminie and is expected to further strengthen the longstanding partnership between India and Seychelles.
As part of the celebrations, a contingent of the Indian Armed Forces and two ships of the Indian Navy will participate in the commemorative events.
According to the MEA, the visit will provide an opportunity for both sides to discuss cooperation in areas such as maritime security, development partnership, capacity building, trade and investment, and regional issues of mutual interest.
Seychelles occupies a strategic position in the Indian Ocean, and India has maintained close ties with the island nation through development assistance, defence cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. The visit is expected to reinforce these ties and underline India's commitment to its maritime neighbourhood and the wider Indian Ocean region.
