PM Vishwakarma scheme set for roll-out in West Bengal: Centre

Business To Business, New Delhi, 22nd May, 2026:  The Centre’s flagship PM Vishwakarma Scheme is set to be implemented in West Bengal, the Union MSME Ministry said on Friday, shortly after the newly elected BJP-led state government approved the move.
Dr Rajneesh, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, met West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Agarwal to discuss the implementation process.
The development comes days after Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced that the state government would implement Ayushman Bharat and roll out several major central welfare schemes across West Bengal following the first cabinet meeting of the new government.
The PM Vishwakarma scheme is aimed at supporting traditional artisans and craftspeople by providing financial assistance, skill training, modern tools, and market access to enhance livelihoods and preserve traditional occupations.
