President Murmu, VP Radhakrishnan condole loss of lives in Lucknow fire

Business To Business, New Delhi, 22nd June, 2026:  Droupadi Murmu and C. P. Radhakrishnan on Monday expressed grief over the loss of lives in the devastating fire that broke out in a commercial building in Lucknow.
According to reports, 15 people, including students, were killed and seven others injured when a massive fire engulfed a three-storey commercial building housing an animation centre on Usha Mehta Marg in the Aliganj area of Lucknow on Monday afternoon.
President Murmu said she was deeply saddened by the tragedy and extended her heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
In her message, she expressed sympathy for the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the incident.
Vice President Radhakrishnan also conveyed his condolences, mourning the loss of life and expressing solidarity with the affected families during their time of grief.
The fire has prompted rescue and relief operations by local authorities, while investigations are underway to determine the cause of the blaze and assess whether safety norms were followed in the building.
The tragedy has drawn condolences from leaders across the political spectrum and renewed attention on fire safety measures in educational and commercial establishments.
