Pvt jet operators seek relaxations in FDTL, EDTO norms

Business To Business, Mumbai, 02nd July, 2026:   The Business Aircraft Operators Association (BAOA), which represents private jet and charter aircraft operators, has sought certain relaxations in the Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) applicable to pilots operating chartered flights, according to industry sources.
The demands were discussed during a recent meeting between BAOA representatives and officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), where issues related to FDTL, Extended Diversion Time Operations (EDTO) and other operational matters were taken up.
According to industry sources, the DGCA is likely to constitute a committee to examine the association's demands and recommend possible changes to the existing regulations.
BAOA represents more than 100 organisations engaged in business and general aviation across the country and has been advocating regulatory measures aimed at improving operational efficiency while maintaining safety standards.
