Business To Business, Kolkata, 6th June, 2026: Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday travelled on the Kolkata Metro and later took an auto-rickshaw ride during his visit to West Bengal, using the occasion to interact directly with commuters and gather feedback on public transport services.
After arriving at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Vaishnaw proceeded to the adjoining metro station, where he spoke with passengers and asked about their experience of using the metro network.
Accompanied by state minister Jagannath Chatterjee and MP Jyotirmoy Singh Mahato, the Railway Minister boarded a metro train from Jai Hind (Airport) Metro Station to Noapara Metro Station.
During the journey, Vaishnaw interacted with commuters to understand their views on metro services and infrastructure. The visit formed part of his broader engagement with railway and urban transport projects in West Bengal, where several rail and metro expansion initiatives are underway.
