Rajnath hails 'positive exchange' between defence and cinema

Business To Business New Delhi, 06 August, 2026:   Rajnath Singh on Thursday praised the makers of Operation Safed Sagar, saying there has been a positive collaboration between the Indian armed forces and the film industry in portraying the country's military with authenticity and respect.
In a special video message played at the series' premiere event at Bharat Mandapam, Singh congratulated the creators for bringing one of India's significant military operations to the screen.
The Defence Minister said:

  • There is now a positive exchange between the Indian defence establishment and cinema.
  • Filmmakers are making efforts to depict the "real glory" of Indian soldiers with the respect and authenticity they deserve.
  • Such portrayals enhance the honour of the armed forces and inspire patriotism among young people.
Singh added that authentic depictions of military operations not only recognise the sacrifices and professionalism of soldiers but also help foster greater public understanding and appreciation of their service.
The remarks were made during the premiere of Operation Safed Sagar, which is based on one of India's notable military operations.
