Ram temple probe: SIT asks trust and temple functionaries not to leave Ayodhya

Business To Business, Ayodhya, 21st June, 2026:  A Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing alleged irregularities and embezzlement of funds linked to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has reportedly instructed trust and temple functionaries not to leave the city while the investigation is underway, according to temple sources.
The three-member SIT is examining allegations related to the handling of donations and offerings made by devotees. Before departing for Lucknow on Sunday, investigators reportedly issued instructions to relevant officials to remain available for further questioning.
According to sources familiar with the probe, one of the key areas under scrutiny involves records relating to offerings of gold, silver, diamonds, and other precious stones donated to Lord Ram by devotees.
The sources claimed that investigators identified discrepancies in the documentation, inventory records, and accounting of some of these offerings. The SIT is reportedly examining whether proper procedures were followed in recording, valuing, and safeguarding donated valuables.
As the investigation is ongoing, no official findings or conclusions have yet been announced by the SIT. The purpose of the probe is to verify records, reconcile inventories, and determine whether any financial or administrative irregularities occurred.
Further details are expected to emerge once the investigation progresses and the SIT submits its findings to the relevant authorities.
