Saket building collapse: Delhi CM orders inquiry, intensifies illegal construction crackdown

Business To Business, New Delhi, 31^st May, 2026:  Rekha Gupta on Sunday visited the site of the building collapse in the Saket area that claimed six lives and assured strict action against unauthorised construction as well as officials found responsible.
The collapse occurred on Saturday evening on Western Marg in the Saidulajab locality when a multi-storey building suddenly gave way.
Details of the incident
According to reports:

• The building housed a coaching institute, cafés, and office spaces.
• Construction work was allegedly being carried out on the upper floor when the structure collapsed.
• Six people lost their lives in the incident.
• Rescue and relief operations were launched immediately after the collapse.

• Action would be taken against those responsible for unauthorised construction activities.
• Officials found negligent in enforcing building regulations would also face consequences.
