Semiconductor facility at Sanand milestone in tech self-reliance, says Amit Shah

Business To Business, New Delhi, 04th July, 2026:  Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday hailed the inauguration of the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Gujarat's Sanand by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing it as a significant milestone in India's journey towards becoming a global technology powerhouse.
In a post on social media platform X, Shah said the facility marked "India's new leap towards self-reliance in technology" and reflected the country's growing capabilities in the semiconductor sector.
"The inauguration of the new CG SEMI OSAT facility in Sanand, Gujarat, by PM Narendra Modi is a new milestone in India's journey as a tech powerhouse," Shah said.
He added that the facility would strengthen India's semiconductor ecosystem, boost domestic manufacturing and contribute to the country's vision of achieving technological self-reliance while enhancing its position in the global electronics value chain.
