Shravan Shivratri: 'Har Har Mahadev' echoes across UP as massive crowds gather at Shiva temples

Business To Business, New Delhi, 11 August 2026:  Large crowds of devotees gathered at major Shiva temples across Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday on the occasion of Shravan Shivratri, prompting police and district administrations to strengthen security, traffic and crowd-management measures.
Among the prominent shrines receiving large numbers of devotees were Pura Mahadev Temple in Baghpat and Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.
In Baghpat, authorities made extensive arrangements ahead of the expected influx at Pura Mahadev Temple, where a three-day Mahashivratri fair is also being held. Additional police personnel were deployed around the temple complex and along Kanwar Yatra routes.
Baghpat Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Rai inspected the arrangements and reviewed security, crowd management and parking facilities at the temple complex.
The measures are aimed at ensuring the safe movement of devotees and preventing congestion during the festival period.
