Suvendu Adhikari's aide murder case: CBI arrests one more from UP's Ballia
Business To Business, Ballia, 6th June, 2026: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday took custody of Gyanendra Pratap Singh, a history-sheeter from Ballia district, in connection with the murder of Chandranath Rath.
Custody after court surrender
According to officials:
- Singh had surrendered before a Gangsters Act court in Ballia on Thursday in a separate case.
- He was subsequently remanded to judicial custody and lodged in Mau jail.
- Following legal procedures, the CBI obtained his custody for questioning in the Rath murder investigation.
Background of the case
Chandranath Rath was known as a former associate of Suvendu Adhikari.
The murder case is currently being investigated by the CBI, which has been probing the circumstances surrounding Rath's death and the possible involvement of multiple accused.
About the accused
Officials stated that Singh, also known as Monu:
- Is a history-sheeter with multiple criminal cases registered against him.
- Faces around 12 criminal cases.
- Was among the persons wanted by investigators in the Rath murder case.
