World lacks solution for balanced progress, says RSS chief Bhagwat
Business To Business, Mumbai, 4th June, 2026: Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday said that the world lacks a comprehensive guiding principle capable of ensuring balanced progress across all dimensions of human life, including physical, intellectual, social, and environmental well-being.
Addressing the concluding event of a volunteer training camp organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Nagpur, Bhagwat reflected on what he described as the limitations of existing global development models.
Key observations
According to Bhagwat:
- The world has developed separate approaches to advancing the human body, mind, and intellect.
- However, it has not yet evolved a framework that promotes all three simultaneously in a balanced manner.
- Global systems remain uncertain about how to reconcile individual welfare, societal interests, and environmental sustainability.
He said:
"The world knows human body's development, as well as mind and intelligence. But the world does not know how to achieve progress on all the three fronts."
Broader theme
Bhagwat's remarks focused on the idea of holistic development, arguing that modern societies often address different aspects of human advancement in isolation rather than as interconnected elements.
His comments also touched on broader questions facing policymakers worldwide, including:
- Balancing economic growth with environmental protection.
- Reconciling individual rights with collective welfare.
- Promoting material progress alongside social and intellectual development.
Context
The RSS chief has frequently spoken about the need for development models that integrate cultural, social, economic, and environmental considerations. His latest remarks were made in the context of discussing human development and the challenges confronting contemporary global systems.
The speech formed part of the concluding session of an RSS volunteer training programme, where participants received instruction on organizational, social, and ideological themes.
