Business To Business, Kolkata, 12th May 2026: In a reflective yet combative literary response to her party’s recent electoral defeat, Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday shared a poem titled “Brave”, invoking themes of courage, dignity and resilience in the face of adversity.
Written in the simple and direct style often associated with Banerjee’s political poetry, the poem appeared to serve both as a personal reflection and a message to demoralised workers of the All India Trinamool Congress following the Bharatiya Janata Party victory in the recently concluded West Bengal Assembly elections, which brought an end to the TMC’s 15-year rule in the state.
“Be brave and strong,” the former chief minister wrote in the opening line, setting the tone for a piece centred on perseverance and emotional resolve amid political setbacks.
Banerjee has frequently used poetry and artwork over the years to communicate political messages and connect emotionally with party supporters during moments of crisis and transition.
