'Very serious': Rijiju asks Rahul Gandhi to disclose details of his foreign travels

Business To Business, New Delhi, 15th May 2026: Kiren Rijiju on Friday described questions surrounding Rahul Gandhi’s foreign trips and their funding as “very serious” and urged the Congress leader to disclose details of his overseas travel to the relevant authorities to avoid any potential legal action.
The remarks came a day after the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party questioned the funding sources for Gandhi’s foreign visits and alleged discrepancies between his declared income and travel expenditure.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, party spokesperson Sambit Patra claimed that Gandhi had undertaken 54 foreign trips over the past 22 years at an estimated cumulative cost of Rs 60 crore.
Patra further alleged that Gandhi’s declared annual income in poll affidavits over the last decade totalled around Rs 11 crore, raising questions about the funding of the trips.
The Indian National Congress had not immediately responded publicly to the allegations.
