Business To Business, Lucknow, 26th June, 2026: Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said the Allahabad High Court had punctured what he described as the BJP's "false praise" by declaring the Uttar Pradesh government's decision to appoint outgoing gram pradhans as administrators unconstitutional.
In a post on X in Hindi, Yadav said the ruling had exposed the state government's actions despite its efforts to project a positive image through public events.
"While the UP BJP government continuously organises sponsored events to garner false praise, the Allahabad High Court played the spoilsport by reprimanding the government and declaring its decision to appoint outgoing 'village pradhans' as administrators unconstitutional," Yadav wrote.
The controversy relates to a government order issued on May 25 under which existing gram pradhans were appointed as administrators after the completion of their five-year term.
Referring to the High Court's decision, the Samajwadi Party chief alleged that the judgment had exposed shortcomings in the state's approach to local governance and administration.
The ruling concerns the legality of the appointments made under the May 25 order and has become the latest point of political confrontation between the opposition and the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government.
