Business To Business, Guwahati, 29th May, 2026: Himanta Biswa Sarma and Conrad K. Sangma on Friday agreed to expedite efforts to resolve the long-pending inter-state border dispute between Assam and Meghalaya.
A delegation led by Sangma met the Assam chief minister in Guwahati and held discussions on multiple issues concerning both states.
In a post on X, Sarma said he had an “excellent discussion” with Sangma and that the two sides had made progress on several long-standing matters.
The Assam-Meghalaya border dispute has persisted for decades over multiple stretches along the boundary shared by the two northeastern states, though recent years have seen efforts toward negotiated settlements and joint consultations.
