Business To Business, Lucknow, 26th June, 2026: Akhilesh Yadav on Friday launched a sharp attack on the BJP, asserting that Ayodhya would become the "Lanka" for the ruling party and that the "mask" of those claiming to be devout would eventually come off.
In a post on X, Yadav referred to the alleged irregularities involving cash and valuables donated to the Ram Temple and said the controversy had exposed those who projected themselves as devoted followers.
"The Lanka Kaand of the BJP will take place in Ayodhya itself. The mask worn by these 'daanbhakto' (devotees of charity) has finally come off, because the Lord's divine power has indeed revealed its miracle," Yadav wrote in Hindi.
The Samajwadi Party chief invoked the symbolism of Lanka Kaand, a key episode in the Ramcharitmanas that depicts the triumph of good over evil through Lord Ram's victory over Ravana.
His remarks came amid an ongoing political controversy over alleged irregularities in donations received at the Ram Temple, following the registration of an FIR and a probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
The BJP has not issued an immediate response to Yadav's latest remarks. Meanwhile, the investigation into the alleged financial irregularities is continuing.
