Business To Business, Kolkata, 30th June, 2026: The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday declined to grant an urgent hearing to a petition filed by the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) challenging the freezing of its bank accounts.
Authorities had imposed a debit freeze on three bank accounts of the TMC following complaints by rebel MLAs seeking an investigation into the source of funds deposited in the accounts.
Refusing to accord priority to the matter, Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya observed that the petition would be heard in the normal course according to its position in the court's listing.
The court's decision means the TMC's plea against the debit freeze will be taken up as per the regular schedule, without any special or expedited hearing.
