Bengal: CM Suvendu Adhikari holds first 'janata darbar', listens to public grievances

Business To Business, Kolkata, 18th May, 2026:  Suvendu Adhikari on Monday held his first ‘janata darbar’ at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s state office in Salt Lake, where he heard grievances and demands from members of the public.
The outreach exercise is being projected as part of a governance model focused on direct public access to the chief minister, a format often associated with BJP-ruled states and linked to the party’s “double-engine” governance narrative in West Bengal.
The programme was announced by the BJP around 9 am, and Adhikari reached the party office within about 45 minutes. The ‘janata darbar’ continued for nearly an hour, during which citizens raised various local and administrative issues.
