Business To Business, Kolkata, 4th May 2026: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is reported to have played a significant grassroots role during the run-up to the West Bengal Assembly elections.
According to sources, RSS volunteers conducted extensive voter awareness campaigns across West Bengal, organising lakhs of small group meetings to encourage people to vote without fear. Their outreach reportedly covered both urban and rural areas, aiming to boost voter participation.
In addition to mobilisation efforts, RSS swayamsevaks were said to have gathered on-ground feedback about voter sentiment and opposition strategies, which was then shared with the Bharatiya Janata Party. This input is believed to have helped the party fine-tune its campaign approach.
A senior BJP leader acknowledged the contribution, saying the volunteers “worked very hard,” especially in helping the party make significant inroads against the Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee.
While such claims highlight the organisational support behind the BJP’s campaign, they are based on party and source inputs and reflect one side of the political narrative.
