BJP chief calls upon party cadres to strive to form 'double engine govt' in Telangana

Business To Business, Hyderabad, 28th June, 2026:   Nitin Nabin on Sunday alleged that the aspirations of the Telangana statehood movement remain unfulfilled even 12 years after the state's formation and called on party workers to strive for the installation of a "double engine government" led by the BJP in the state.
Nabin, who began a three-day visit to Telangana, virtually inaugurated the offices of nine district units of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Addressing party workers, he said the ideals and objectives of the Telangana agitation had not yet been fully realised and urged BJP leaders and activists to intensify their organisational efforts across the state.
Referring to the upcoming elections to municipal corporations, including those in Hyderabad, Nabin said the polls present an important opportunity for the party to expand its support base.
He called upon BJP leaders and workers to work collectively and strengthen the organisation at the grassroots to ensure the party's success in the civic elections.
The term "double engine government" is commonly used by the BJP to describe a situation where the party is in power at both the Centre and the state, arguing that such an arrangement facilitates faster development and better coordination between the two governments.
