Business To Business, Mumbai, 4th May 2026: Sanjay Raut on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and the National Democratic Alliance, alleging that their apparent success in West Bengal came “not through the right means.”
The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader claimed that factors like “hatred,” communal politics, and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls contributed to the defeat of Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress.
Using a metaphor, Raut remarked that “the candle burns brightest right before it burns out,” suggesting that the NDA’s current rise could signal the beginning of its decline. He also called for greater unity among opposition parties, pointing to setbacks faced by major regional players like the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu and the TMC in West Bengal.
His comments come amid rapidly evolving election trends, with final outcomes yet to be confirmed.
