Business To Business, New Delhi, 5th May, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of hypocrisy over his criticism of the Election Commission of India and electronic voting machines (EVMs), claiming that the opposition INDIA bloc has “fallen apart” after the West Bengal election results.
In a video posted on X, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla alleged that Gandhi questions the electoral process only after defeats while accepting outcomes where his party performs well.
“This is sheer hypocrisy and shamelessness. His party has won elections in Kerala, where SIR took place and voting was done using EVMs. There, the results were accepted as the people’s verdict. Now he is blaming EVMs and the Election Commission in West Bengal and Assam,” Poonawalla said.
