Brittas urges health ministry to review NEET-MDS 2026 result process

Business To Business, New Delhi, 17th June, 2026:  John Brittas has written to J P Nadda, seeking intervention over concerns raised by candidates regarding the transparency and fairness of the NEET-MDS 2026 examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences.
In his letter, Brittas expressed concern over the NBEMS's reported refusal to disclose:

  • Official answer keys.
  • Individual response sheets of candidates.
  • Detailed basis for score calculation.
According to the MP, transparency is essential for maintaining the credibility of any national-level competitive examination.
Brittas argued that candidates should be given a reasonable opportunity to:
  • Verify the correctness of their scores.
  • Review their responses.
  • Understand how marks were awarded.
  • Raise objections, if necessary, to any discrepancies.
He maintained that access to answer keys and response sheets is an important component of a fair examination process.
The issue comes amid heightened public scrutiny of competitive examinations in India following controversies over alleged irregularities and paper leaks in several recruitment and entrance tests.
Many examination bodies release answer keys and candidate response sheets because they:
  • Increase transparency.
  • Enable independent verification of results.
  • Reduce disputes and litigation.
  • Build confidence among candidates.
  • Strengthen the credibility of the examination system.
The letter urges the Health Ministry to examine the concerns raised by NEET-MDS candidates and ensure that the examination process remains transparent, accountable, and fair.
