Business To Business, New Delhi, 01st July, 2026: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday said chartered accountants are the custodians of trust in the country's financial system and stressed that the standards governing the profession should not be diluted.
Addressing a function organised in New Delhi to mark the 78th Chartered Accountants' Day, Radhakrishnan emphasised the importance of ethics in the accounting profession, stating that economic growth without ethical practices would not serve any meaningful purpose.
He urged the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to maintain the rigour of its examination process, saying the high standards of the profession are essential because chartered accountants play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of the financial system.
The Vice President underscored that preserving professional excellence and ethical conduct is vital for sustaining public confidence in India's financial and corporate governance framework.
