Business To Business, Kolkata, 15th May 2026: Suvendu Adhikari on Friday expressed concern over complaints of a “broker raj” in government hospitals and directed officials to take strict action against such practices.
During a meeting attended by Health Department officials, principals and superintendents of major state-run hospitals, along with senior doctors holding administrative responsibilities, Adhikari also issued instructions aimed at curbing irregular patient referrals.
The chief minister directed hospitals in West Bengal to improve transparency in the patient admission process and enhance their treatment capacity.
The discussions focused on streamlining hospital administration, reducing middlemen interference and improving healthcare services at government-run medical institutions across the state.
