Congress demands scrapping of NTA, Pradhan's sacking over NEET paper leak

Business To Business, New Delhi, 14th May 2026:  The Indian National Congress on Thursday demanded the immediate dissolution of the National Testing Agency and sought the dismissal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over allegations of large-scale irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.
Addressing a press conference, Congress national spokesperson Alok Sharma described the NTA as functioning like a “private NGO” rather than a credible government institution.
He alleged that the agency, set up in 2017, had become a mechanism for enabling “backdoor entries” for associates linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Sharma also compared the alleged irregularities to the Vyapam Scam, which involved allegations of manipulation in recruitment and entrance examinations in Madhya Pradesh.
The remarks come amid intensifying political criticism over the handling of NEET and allegations surrounding examination integrity and paper leaks.
