FIR against TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh, MP Dola Sen over traffic disarray during Martyrs' Day stage survey

Business To Business, Kolkata, 29th June, 2026:   An FIR has been registered against Kunal Ghosh, Dola Sen and Trinamool Congress leader Baishwanar Chattopadhyay for allegedly obstructing traffic while surveying the proposed venue for the party's July 21 Martyrs' Day rally in central Kolkata, police said on Monday.
According to the FIR, the three leaders gathered in front of Victoria House on Bentinck Street between 2:50 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday to take measurements for the proposed rally stage using measuring tapes.
Police alleged that the activity caused obstruction to vehicular movement at the busy intersection.
The Trinamool Congress organises its annual Martyrs' Day programme at the location to commemorate the 13 Youth Congress activists who were killed in police firing during a protest in Kolkata in 1993.
The registration of the FIR comes amid preparations for this year's July 21 rally, one of the TMC's largest annual political events.
