INC candidate Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury beaten by BJP’s Subrata Maitra in Baharampur, Murshidabad

Business To Business, Kolkata, 4th May 2026:  Baharampur, a key seat in Murshidabad district and part of the Baharampur Lok Sabha constituency, witnessed a high-profile three-cornered contest.
Subrata Maitra of the Bharatiya Janata Party has now been declared the winner from the seat. He defeated prominent rivals including Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury of the Indian National Congress and Naru Gopal Mukherjee of the Trinamool Congress.
The victory is significant given the stature of the contest, especially with senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in the fray, making Baharampur one of the most closely watched constituencies in the West Bengal Assembly elections.
