Business To Business, Srinagar, 16th July, 2026: A court in Srinagar on Thursday allowed the renewal of National Conference president Farooq Abdullah's passport for one year but ruled that any foreign travel would remain subject to obtaining the necessary permission from the competent authority.
The sessions court issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) to the Regional Passport Officer for the renewal of Abdullah's passport. Abdullah is an accused in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) scam case.
In its 14-page order, Additional Sessions Judge Farooq Ahmad Bhat directed the Regional Passport Officer, Srinagar, to consider issuing or renewing the passport for one year from the date of receipt of the order, subject to the condition that Abdullah is not involved in any criminal case other than the one pending before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar.
