JMM nominates ex-minister Baidyanath Ram for RS polls

Business To Business, Ranchi, 6th June, 2026:   Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Saturday nominated Baidyanath Ram as its candidate for one of the two Rajya Sabha seats from Jharkhand that are scheduled to go to polls on June 18.
JMM general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya announced that Ram will file his nomination papers on June 8 in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Bhattacharya also said that the party has not yet finalized its nominee for the second Rajya Sabha seat. According to him, a decision on that seat will be taken by the JMM leadership after consultations with the Indian National Congress, a key ally in the ruling coalition in Jharkhand.
The announcement signals the beginning of candidate selection for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in the state, with discussions between coalition partners expected to determine the nominee for the remaining seat.
