Kharge reiterates demand for special Parliament session to discuss Operation Sindoor, ceasefire

Business Aajkal, KALABURAGI (KARNATAKA), 12 May 2025: On Monday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge reiterated his call for the central government to convene a special session of Parliament to address several pressing issues, including the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, and recent developments in cross-border firing, such as the announced ceasefire.
The Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha emphasized that while the desire for peace is universal, the country must also be prepared to defend itself when required. He highlighted that Indian armed forces have fought with full strength to ensure national security.
Kharge stated, "Both Rahul Gandhi and I have written to the Prime Minister, seeking a special Parliament session. We want the session to be convened to discuss what is happening in our country, in Pakistan, and other developments, along with what measures we can take to safeguard our people."
