Left-affiliated students unions organise bandh in Telangana over NEET issue

Business To Business, Hyderabad, 24th July, 2026:   Educational institutions across Telangana observed a bandh on Friday following a call by Left-affiliated student unions protesting alleged irregularities in the conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
The shutdown was organised by student organisations including the Students' Federation of India (SFI), All India Students' Federation (AISF) and Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU), which called for educational institutions from the Intermediate (Classes 11 and 12) level to universities to remain closed.
AISF State Secretary Putta Laxman said the bandh was being observed successfully and was aimed at demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and stringent action against those responsible for the alleged NEET-UG paper leak.
The protesting student unions alleged irregularities in the examination process and called for accountability and reforms to ensure transparency and fairness in competitive entrance examinations.
