Business Aajkal, KOLKATA, 14 May 2025: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Wednesday that temporary monthly allowances will be provided to Group C and Group D employees whose appointments were terminated by the Supreme Court amid the cash-for-jobs scam in state-run schools.
Under this initiative, Rs 25,000 will be given to each unemployed Group C employee, and Rs 20,000 to each Group D employee, as part of the newly launched West Bengal Livelihood and Social Security Scheme managed by the state labour department.
Banerjee stated that the scheme, which has been approved by the state cabinet, will come into effect from April 1, 2025.
