Business To Business, Kolkata, 31 March 2026: A day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah released a political “chargesheet” against the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday hit back, saying he should be chargesheeted “for his past deeds,” without naming him directly.
She also alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would discontinue the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme if it comes to power in the state.
Banerjee further objected to Shah’s reported remarks regarding the injury she sustained during the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021, urging him to refer to the medical report detailing the extent of damage to her leg.
The exchange follows Shah’s recent accusations against the TMC leadership, where he alleged that the party supremo had “always played the politics of the victim card.”
