Mamata’s assembly chamber chair removed, new CM Suvendu to have another seat

Business To Business, Kolkata, 9th May, 2026: The chair used by former Mamata Banerjee in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly for the past 15 years has been moved to the opposition leader’s room following the change of government in West Bengal, a senior official said on Saturday.
According to the official, newly sworn-in Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari would not use the chair occupied by his predecessor, and a different seat has been arranged in the chief minister’s chamber.
The wooden chair was shifted on Friday night as part of administrative rearrangements after the new Bharatiya Janata Party government assumed office.
