Business To Business, Shimla, 01 January, 2026: The effective economic policies of the Modi government have positioned India as the fourth-largest economy globally, as stated by former Union minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday.
In a statement released here, he noted that the unprecedented reforms and effective economic strategies implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past 11 years have allowed India to consistently rank among the fastest-growing major economies, resulting in India becoming the world's fourth-largest economy.
Currently, with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of USD 4.18 trillion, India has overtaken Japan to secure its place as the fourth-largest economy in the world, and the Indian economy is poised to surpass Germany for the third position within the next 2.5 to 3 years, with a projected GDP of USD 7.3 trillion by 2030, according to the BJP Member of Parliament from the Hamirpur constituency.
