Business To Business, Kolkata, 03 August, 2026: Chandra Kumar Bose on Monday resigned from the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), saying he had become "disillusioned" with mainstream political parties and found "no difference" between the politics of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC.
His resignation comes about four months after joining the TMC ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections. Before joining the TMC, Bose had described his earlier decision to join the BJP as a "mistake."
A former BJP state vice-president, Bose has consistently maintained that his political beliefs are inspired by the ideals of his granduncle, Subhas Chandra Bose, rather than allegiance to any political party.
