Parameshwara all set to be Deputy CM of Karnataka

Business To Business, Bengaluru, 3rd June, 2026:  Senior Congress leader G. Parameshwara will be the new Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, according to official sources.
He is set to take the oath of office and secrecy shortly after D. K. Shivakumar is sworn in as Chief Minister.
The swearing-in ceremony will be administered by Thaawarchand Gehlot at the Lok Bhavan Glass House in Bengaluru. Along with Shivakumar and Parameshwara, other MLAs are also expected to be inducted into the new Council of Ministers.
Parameshwara is one of the Congress's most senior leaders in Karnataka and has previously served as Deputy Chief Minister as well as state Congress president. His inclusion in the top leadership team is seen as an effort to balance regional, caste, and organizational considerations within the ruling Indian National Congress.
The development follows the leadership transition in Karnataka, with Shivakumar taking over as Chief Minister after the tenure of Siddaramaiah. The new arrangement is expected to shape the Congress government's strategy ahead of upcoming political challenges and governance priorities in the state.
