Pilot to maintain 'silence' on Gehlot’s barbs, focus on paper leak issue: Sources

Business To Business, New Delhi, 8th June, 2026:   Amid renewed criticism from former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, sources close to Sachin Pilot said on Monday that Pilot has chosen not to respond publicly and is instead concentrating on issues affecting the public.
According to the sources:

  • Pilot is maintaining what they described as a "dignified silence" regarding Gehlot's remarks.
  • He has consistently avoided engaging in personal attacks against his senior party colleague.
  • In the past as well, Pilot allegedly refrained from responding directly to Gehlot's criticisms and preferred "grace over name-calling."
Sources said Pilot is prioritizing issues such as:
  • The alleged NEET examination paper leak controversy.
  • Concerns related to the CBSE examination row.
  • Rising inflation and its impact on ordinary citizens.
The message from Pilot's camp appears to be that these issues deserve greater political attention than internal party disputes.
The relationship between Gehlot and Pilot has been marked by periodic tensions within the Indian National Congress, particularly since the leadership struggle in Rajasthan that intensified in 2020. Despite efforts by the party leadership to reconcile the two leaders, differences have occasionally resurfaced in public statements.
The latest exchange comes as political parties are sharpening their attacks on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party over issues such as examination irregularities, unemployment, and inflation.
For now, Pilot's camp is signaling that he intends to keep the focus on governance and public concerns rather than engage in a war of words with Gehlot.
