Proud of our son Suvendu, doesn't need to sign membership to join family: RSS

Business To Business, New Delhi, 13th May 2026: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale has said the organisation is proud of West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and that formal membership is not necessary for someone to be considered part of the Sangh family.
In an exclusive interview, Hosabale compared such political transitions to a daughter-in-law joining a household, while responding to a question about leaders from other political parties joining the Bharatiya Janata Party and later becoming chief ministers.
“Not necessarily everybody joins RSS only when they are school kids. There are many who join the RSS at a later age,” he said.
Hosabale’s remarks came in the context of leaders such as Samrat Choudhary and Himanta Biswa Sarma, who had earlier been associated with other political parties before joining the BJP and rising to prominent positions.
The comments underscore the RSS’s broader view of ideological affiliation and political integration within the Sangh Parivar ecosystem.
